New ocean multi-use project UNITED had its Kick-Off meeting!

The meeting gathering over 40 experts from 27 partner organisations, ranging from commercial entities and specialised consultancies to research institutes and universities from across the EU (click here to see the full list of project partners). Over the course of the three days, fruitful discussions took place on how to demonstrate the multi-use concept in a real environment in five specific locations: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, and Greece. In fact, by means of pilot demonstrators, UNITED aims to provide evidence that the development of multi-use, either as a joint physical platform or as co-location of different activities in ocean space, is a viable approach (economically, socially and environmentally) for both European maritime industries as well local ecosystems. The project is taking a co-development approach, and as such will closely involve not only its Advisory Board members, but also other relevant stakeholders from across the EU and beyond. Keep an eye on the UNITED website events calendar where the series of stakeholder engagement opportunities will be announced soon!
